Health Protection Agency (HPA) has confirmed that an eleventh person has tested positive for Covid-19 in Male' City.
In a tweet sent out today, HPA noted that the tenth case (Case 31) is a direct contact of the eighth case (Case 28). They further added that the patient is now being transferred to an isolation facility. The patient was tested after having flu like symptoms.
The confirmation for the eleventh case came moments after they confirmed the tenth case (Case 30) which happens to be a direct contact of the seventh case (Case 27).
While the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Maldivian capital has gone up to 11, the total number of people who tested positive in the Maldives is now 31 and 16 of them have recovered. And two people were confirmed positive after they left the country and there are 13 locals currently in treatment.
The first COVID-19 case in Male’ City was confirmed on Wednesday morning followed by a 24 hour lock down which has no extended to 14 days as the number have risen to eight.
