Health Protection Agency (HPA) has confirmed the ninth case of Covid-19 in Male' City.
In a tweet sent out last night, HPA noted that the ninth case is a direct contact of the seventh case. They further added that the patient is now being transferred to an isolation facility.
While the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Maldivian capital has gone up to nine, the total number of people who tested positive in the Maldives is now 29 and 16 of them have recovered. And two people were confirmed positive after they left the country and there are 11 locals currently in treatment.
The first COVID-19 case in Male’ City was confirmed on Wednesday morning followed by a 24 hour lock down which has no extended to 14 days as the number have risen to eight.
