Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment has announced that they are seeking volunteers for delivery services in the Male’ area during the lock down amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

While some shops have arranged shopping services during the lock down, the delivery of the goods bought are facing challenges due to the lack of delivery staff which has caused members of the public to go out and buy good themselves.

In an effort to assist the shops with delivery, the Ministry is looking for volunteers interested to be part of the service. The volunteers are to text 733-5426 to register.

Amid the recent surge of confirmed cases of the illness in the capital city, authorities has asked the general public to remain indoors as the state institutes are working to make sure there are no disruptions to basic food and other supplies.

The government has been repeatedly pleading to the public to economize and try to manage with what is available as it is unsafe to go out at this time.
