Maldives Police Service and MNDF has raised their operational alert level after a confirmed case of Covid-19 in the capital city, Male'.
Speaking during a press conference tonight, Chief of Defense Force Major General Abdulla Shamaal noted that MNDF has been brought to alert level 'Blue-1' and that Army officers will now be at the head quarters and barracks, ready for the operation. He added that they have formulated a force protection, sustenance and economizing policy for this situation.
In addition to this, Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed noted that they are working at Operational Alert level 2 (Orange). During this period, a certain number of police officers will be available to carry out the operation.
The CP also noted that Police officers on duty will not return back to their homes to sleep, and that alternative accommodation is now being arranged for them.
