Foreign Minister, Abdulla Shahid has discussed bringing back the Maldivian nationals in Bangladesh with the Bangladeshi Foreign Minister, Dr. A. K. Abdul Momen.

Minister Shahid took to Twitter to announce that a constructive discussion had taken place.

In his tweet, Minister Shahid said that he had a constructive discussions with the Foreign Minister Momen to explore possible avenues for repatriation of Maldivians stranded in Bangladesh.

The Maldivian government have been working to bringing back all the Maldivians stranded in other countries due to various travel restrictions amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

And so, the government has brought 205 people from Trivandrum, India, 100 people from Sri Lanka and 200 Maldivians from Malaysia.
