The curfew that has been declared in the Greater Malé Region due to the Covid-19 pandemic is to be discontinued starting today.

The discontinuation of the curfew that was active from April 2 was announced in a statement released by Director General of Public Health, Maimoona Aboobakuru. The curfew that was imposed as a precautionary measure to stop the spread of Covid-19 was active since April 2nd in the Greater Male' Region with the timings being between 5:00pm and 8:00pm.

HPA also added that groups of more than three people are not allowed out and about despite the curfew being lifted.

The statement by HPA further noted that all institutions need to enforce the order.
