A group of masked individuals have attacked and mugged a Bangladeshi national in Kulhudhufushi City in the Haa Dhaalu Atoll.

Maldives Police Service said that the victim of the attack sustained a number of injuries including an inch-long cut on his forehead during the mugging reported last night at 10:30 p.m. The man is now being treated at the Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital.

Police said that the attack was carried out by a group of people on motorcycle with wooden sticks as the victim was walking on the road.

The mugging is being investigated further by the police.
