State has revealed that the foreigner who had tested positive for Covid-19 after departing the Maldives is an employee of Joali Maldives and Bodufushi Resort.

Covid-19 Spokesperson Mabrouq Azeez said that Joali Maldives and Bodufushi Resort are run under the same management and that the patient who had tested positive works in both the resorts.

Mabrouq also noted that both islands are now under monitoring after receiving news of the patient testing positive upon returning to their home country.

He added that the patient had been in both resorts between October 13, 2019 till March 31, 2020. They tested positive yesterday, due to which a contact tracing is now in place to identify all thosw who may be vulnerable.
