National airline, Maldivian, has condemned the cyber-attack on the online booking system of the airline.

A tweet sent out by the airline last night said that the system administrator confirmed that their booking system have become a target for a series of online attacks.

Talking to One Online regarding the matter, the Manager of Public Relations of Maldivian, Moosa Waseem said that this was a deliberate attack to stop the work of the airline.

Moosa said that targeting the airline at a time where the company is trying to do some good to the public is a low criminal act and is saddened by it. He said the online ticketing service for the Maldivians in Malaysia was disrupted due to the cyber-attack and because a large number of people accessed the website at once.

The airline later sold the tickets for the Malaysia flights via phone.
