President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that the World Health Day has come this year during the largest health crisis of this generation and he sends his gratitude to the health workers.

The President made the statement in a tweet sent out this morning.

In his tweet, the President of the Maldives said that the bravery and dedication of our healthcare professionals are on full display.

The President thanked the health professionals and noted that his prayers are to rid the world of COVID-19.

World Health Day is marked on 7 April every year. The theme of this year's World Health Day is “Support nurses and midwives” to acknowledges the critical role that nurses and midwives play in keeping the world healthy and is a call to world leaders to invest in nurses and midwives as part of their commitment to health for all.
