Covid-19 Spokesperson Mabrouq Azeez has revealed that a total of 449 people have submitted complaints to the job center portals. 



Complains to the portal were opened for those who lose their jobs over Covid-19 as well as for those facing other difficulties in employment during the pandemic. 



Speaking during a press conference on Thursday, Mabrouq noted that the number of cases being submitted to the job center was increasing.

Finance Minister Ibrahim Ameer previously requested all those who have los their jobs due to Covid-19 to register at the job center. All those who register at the job center will receive a three month allowance starting April.

Tourism Employees Association of Maldives (TEAM) has revealed that about 11,000 employees from the tourism industry has been sent on no-pay leave so far.
