Speaker of the Parliament, the former President of the Maldives, Mohamed Nasheed has said that he is ready to be tested for COVID-19 if the Public Health Department wants to do so.
The former President was in the UK from 11 to 14 March on a personal visit and returned to the Maldives before the mandatory quarantine and testing was in effect. There was no health advisory for the UK at the time.
However, since then, three Maldivians have tested positive for the illness; all three upon returning from the UK.
