Maldivian cabinet has decided to extend the closure of the government along with schools, universities and colleges for another week.

The decision was taken after considering advise by the Technical Advisory Group of the National Emergency Center, who had noted that the risk of further infections were still high. The decision is among the preventive measures being taken by the state amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

President's Office said that even though offices are to be closed for another week, arrangements should be made for employees to work from home to ensure essential services are still in operation and to allow offices to be open and function with minimal staff if absolutely necessary.

The Ministers had also noted that the most important step to prevent and flattening the curve of the pandemic is to stay home and physical distancing. Hence they all requested all to follow these regulations.
