A person has been stabbed in their hand with a pair of scissors in a violent confrontation between two siblings in Baa Atoll Dharavandhoo.

Maldives Police Service said that the incident was reported yesterday and the injured man is 26-year-old local.

Police said that the incident took place following a confrontation got violent after a theft from the wallet of the 26-year-old man on Saturday. The assailant is the 29-year-old brother of the stabbing victim.

The 29-year-old brother involved in the incident has been brought into police custody and the arrest was made yesterday according to the police.

Authorities are investigating the incident at Dharavandhoo further.
