We can confirm no Maldivian in UAE tested positive regardless of reports: Mabrouq

Covid-19 Spokesperson has revealed that they can confirm that no Maldivian has tested positive for Covid-19 in the UAE, despite reports by the UAE Health Ministry.

Mabrouq previously noted that the name of the alleged positive case in UAE is an Eastern European Name, and that he believes that the individual might be someone from a country like Moldova which has a similar name to the Maldives.

Mabrouq assured that they can now confirm that the patient in question is not a Maldivian after probing the matter.

A Maldivian doctor who works at the National Health Service in the UK also revealed in a Facebook post that his wife tested positive for Covid-19 last Tuesday, after developing flu like symptoms. He further said that the couple is now in self-isolation at their home, and that the condition of his wife is improving.

While 16 cases of Covid-19 has been reported in Maldives, 11 have recovered and 3 are receiving treatment in the Maldives. The other 2 patients are two Italians who tested positive after departing the country.
