Maldives has reported three more Covid-19 recoveries, bringing total number of recovered patients to eight.
There are 13 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the Maldives. With eight total recoveries, there are now five active cases.
Speaking during a press conference today, President Ibrahim Solih confirmed that three additional recoveries have been reported. He also noted that the remaining five patients are receiving treatment and recovering well.
All confirmed cases of Covid-19 are foreign nationals. So far recovered patients include three Italians, a Turkish and South African. Nationalities of the newly recovered patients have not been revealed yet.
Speaking during a press conference today, President Solih said that all measures are taken after expert opinions by health professionals. He stressed that they will remain the first and last decision makers in anything related to the pandemic.
President Solih noted that even though some of these measures are a inconvenience to the public, they have been taken to safeguard all citizens.
