President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has revealed that the Higher Education Student Loan repayments have been delayed by six months.
President Solih made the announcement during a press conference on Wednesday, and stressed that the government is actively working to help businesses and the public.
As such, finding an easier solution for Higher Education Student Loans, it has now been decided that repayments for existing loans will be postponed by six months.
President Solih also noted that the current student loan scheme will continue the way it is.
Government has delayed loan repayments for BML Housing, Personal and Business Loans along with loans from SDFC and HDFC by six months as well.
The government is also subsidising 40 percent of electricity bills and 30 percent of water bills for March and April.
