Maldives has banned entry to all who arrive from Sri Lanka amid the worsening Covid-19 pandemic.
An Air Transport Circular issued by the Civil Aviation Authority noted that passengers and crew with a travel history to Sri Lanka within the past 14 days will not be allowed entry into the Maldives effective March 21st, 6:00hrs.
However Maldivian nationals and their spouses originating from Sri Lanka or transiting through Sri Lanka will still be allowed entry.
While Maldives has imposed a travel ban on Lanka, the nation has announced a curfew active till next Monday.
Maldives has so far issued travel restrictions on; China, Iran, South Korea, Italy, Bangladesh, Spain, Malaysia, UK, Sri Lanka along with parts of France and Germany.
