Maldives has announced that passenger vessels from abroad will not be allowed into the Maldives starting March 20th.
A statement by Health Protection Agency (HPA) noted that this was a special measure taken during the Public Health Emergency in the Maldives in order to minimise the spread of the Coronavirus that has caused a global pandemic.
HPA noted that starting 0000 hrs tonight, entry and docking to any safari and yatches or any passenger vessels from another country will be banned until further notice.
So far there are 13 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the Maldives. All of them are foreign nationals.
