Health Protection Agency (HPA) has advised all Maldivians returning home from any country to self isolate for a period of 14 days.
The decision was made as part of the special measures being taken during the Public Health Emergency to control the spread of Coronavirus in the Maldives. The statement by HPA said that Maldivians coming via countries/regions without travel restrictions will be asked to stay in home-isolation for 14 days.
Travel bans were first imposed on China, followed by Iran, South Korea, Italy, Spain followed by regions of France and Germany.
Maldives also banned all inbound passengers from the UK and Malaysia yesterday as well.
So far there are 13 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the Maldives.
