Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced that under the Public Health Emergency, the Director General of Public Health has ordered all Colleges, Universities and Educational Institutions to be closed.

The decision was announced by the HPA on Saturday through a press release issued on Twitter.

As such, all colleges, universities, schools and other educational institutions have been ordered to be closed for a period of two weeks starting today.

This is a step taken under the powers granted to the DG of Public Health during a Public Health Emergency, as a cautionary step in the containment of Covid-19.

In addition to this, travels from resorts to inhabited islands, and from inhabitated islands to resorts have been banned while guests have been banned from checking into City Hotels and Guesthouses for the next 14 days.
