New Covid-19 case from Kuredu Island Resort brings Maldives total to 10

A new confirmed case of the Covid-19 from Kuredu Island Resort has brought the total cases to 10 in the Maldives.

Health Protection Agency revealed that the 10 people who were identified through contact tracing to the first case of Covid-19 from the resort had been tested. Out of these, nine had tested negative while one tested positive bringing the national total of positive cases to 10. This also marks the fifth positive case in the island itself.

HPA furhter added that the patient is now being transferred to the Isolation Facility in Farukolhufushi.

The new confirmed patient is also a foreign national. So far there are 10 positive cases of Covid-19 in the Maldives. All of these are foreign nationals. These includes tourists as well as workers from the resorts they have stayed at.

Five of these cases are from Kuredu Island Resort, two from Sandies Bathala Island Resort and Kuramathi Maldives and one from Anantara Dhigu Maldives.
