Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced that they are monitoring Bandos Island Reosrt, Meeru Island Resort and Sheraton Full Moon Resort & Spa as a precautionary measure.
The decision to monitor these islands were taken after foreign nationals with Covid-19 like symptoms were reported. Samples from all three have since been taken and are being tested for the virus.
So far there are nine positive cases of Covid-19 in the Maldives. All of these are foreign nationals. These includes tourists as well as workers from the resorts they have stayed at.
Four of these cases are from Kuredu Island Resort, two from Sandies Bathala Island Resort and Kuramathi Maldives and one from Anantara Dhigu Maldives.
National Emergency Operation Center revealed that so far 110 samples have been tested for Covid-19, 92 of which had tested negative.
Results for 18 of these samples are pending as well.
