State spokesperson for Covid-19, Mabrook Azeez has revealed that they have decided to quarantine another foreigner from Sandies Bathala Island Resort along with a Maldivian who came back from Bangladesh.

Mabrook noted that the foreigner who is being quarantined was identified through contact tracing and added that the person is an employee of Sandies Bathala Resort.

The Maldivian who is being quarantined at the Vilivaru Facility had spent the past 14 days in Bangladesh and returned back to the Maldives through Sri Lanka.

Mabrook also revealed that so far there are 16 people quarantined at Farukolhufushi while 13 are at Vilivaru. While 82 samples have now been taken, 76 had tested negative.

So far there are eight confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Maldives.
