Vilamendhoo Island Resort in Alifu Dhaalu Atoll has been reopened after a local staff tested negative for COVID-19 Corona Virus.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) announced on Twitter that regarding the COVID-19 suspicions on the island resort, contact tracing protocols were executed on the island and the temporary restrictive measures on the island have been lifted.
Aside from Vilamendhoo, the tests done at One&Only Reethi Rah resort also came back negative and the resort has now been reopened.
An eight-month old child of a couple that stopped at Italy on the way to the Maldives was tested at One&Only Reethi Rah.
COVID-19 was first seen in the Maldives at Kuredu Island Resort and Sandies Bathala Maldives Resort. The two resorts are still under quarantine with restrictive access.
So far eight people have been tested positive for COVID-19 in the Maldives.
