One person has been isolated in Lhaviyani Atoll Hinnavaru while nine have been isolated in Shaviyani Atoll Foakidhoo over suspicious symptoms of Covid-19.

Speaking during a press conference, state Spokesperson for Covid-19 Mabrook Azeez noted that nine people were currently under home isolation in Foakidhoo, one of whom have since been moved to Farukolhufushi. He further added that one person was in self-isolation in Hinnavaru, who will be tested for the virus today.

Mabrook noted that a total of 63 samples have been taken from Maldives out of 43 were tested negative to the Coronavirus.

He further noted that the suspected case from Vaavu Atoll Thinadhoo had tested negative to the Coronavirus, following which the lockdown on the island had been lifted.

There are so far four confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the Maldives. The first two cases were reported from Kuredu Island Resort where the Italian tourist had stayed. Two foreign workers in the resort had contracted the virus from the tourist. The other two confirmed cases are two Italian tourists who were staying in Bathala Resort.
