President: True capabilities of women can be seen when equal opportunities are provided

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that the true capabilities of women can be seen when equal opportunities are provided.

The President made the remark in a tweet sent out today on the occasion of the International Women’s Day being celebrated today.

Highlighting the priceless role of women in educating generations, President Solih expressed his gratitude to all women.

“This Women's Day we celebrate the innumberable contributions made by women that have uplifted and enriched human life.” President Solih said in his tweet.

International Women’s Day is celebrated on 8 March of every year. The Maldives celebrated it’s first Women’s Day in 1983.
