Deputy Speaker of the Parliament and MP for North Galolhu constituency, Eva Abdulla has said that the current government won’t lie to the public about the COVID-19 Corona Virus.
Speaking at the parliament sitting today, MP Eva said that if the disease comes to the Maldives, there is no lie for the government to tell and will not give false information to the public. And the information on the quarantine of the suspected people, their test results and their care are being provided by the government.
Eva said that the government will not lie in such a matter with so much public interest but the public is concerned due to events of the past.
The MP said that the importance is to be given to things suchs washing hands for 20 seconds and for clean living and the country has enough staple goods for an emergency scenario.
She said that the country has staple goods for three to four months already with four to five months of staple goods on the way according to the Managing Director of the State Trading Organization (STO). MP Eva said that distributors have been allocated to the islands to send the goods to all the islands.
