Tourism Minister, Ali Waheed has reiterated yet again following the leak of an alleged audio of him.

Taking to Twitter this morning, Minister Waheed said that the audio clips are not legitimate. He has maintained that the audios are falsified since their initial leak.

So far, those behind the leaks have published five audio clips with different content that include crude comments regarding the Health Minister, Abdulla Ameen,the Education Minister, Dr. Aishath Ali and the Speaker of the Parliament, Mohamed Nasheed. Other leaks included a crude call to the Transport Minister, Aishath Nahula and a clip that talks about plans for corruption and acts of debauchery.

Following the leaks, many have called for the Tourism Minister’s resignation on social media along with a call on the President, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, to remove Ali Waheed from the cabinet.

In his tweet this morning, the Tourism Minister called on the authorities to investigate the leaks.

He said that it is a low-level act of falsifying audio and said that a full investigation would reveal the truth.

So far, there has been no official comment from any government institute regarding the leaks. This, too, have raised public concern. The people have called on the relevant institutes to investigate these audio leaks that is critical to the current political climate in the countries.
