President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed Aishath Mohamed Didi as the Minister of Gender, Family and Social Services.
President’s Office said that the Oath of Office were taken in the presence of Supreme Court Chief Justice, Husnu-Al Suood.
Aishath Mohamed Didi had previously served as the Minister of Gender and Family from 2005 till 2008. She has also served in various capabilities in the social field and is noted for her social work as well. She had done pro-bono work in fighting for education, children's and women's rights as well.
She also holds a Master of Arts from the UK, Bachelor of Art from Lebanon and a Diploma in Teaching.
Before being appointed as the Gender Minister, she was serving as the High Commissioner of Maldives to India.
