A man from a Northern Atoll has been arrested for physically assaulting his wife.

Police noted that they had received reports of a man physically assaulting his wife around 10.34pm last night. They further added that the woman was taken to the Health Center in the island for treatment and that she has since been discharged.

Police had apprehended a 34 year old male in relation to the case and begun an investigation into him.
