Opposition party PPM has begun the voting in the party primaries for the upcoming Local Council Elections on 4 April.

Taking place across the country, the voting began today at 2:30 p.m. and is set to continue until 6 p.m. according to the party.

Spokesperson of PPM, Heena Waleedh told One Online that voting is underway in seven atolls. That is for the party tickets in the election for two City Councils and 65 island councils.

She said that the time of announcement for final results will be declared at a later time. And said that there are three officials with every ballot box and only one representative can be assigned per candidate.

Speaking at a press conference yesterday, PPM said that they advise all party members, officials and representatives to have a smooth election as this is a golden opportunity for the party take the country out of the current situation.
