Maldivian Minister of Defence, Mariya Amed Didi has met with the Indian Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh.

At the meeting, the two discussed assistance from the Indian Army to the Maldivian National Defence Force (MNDF) in their operations in connection to the global pandemic of Novel Corona Virus.

With no way of testing for the disease in the Maldives, samples from suspected patients are being sent to India for testing.

Defence Minister Mariya’s visit to Lucknow, India, for the Defence Expo 2020 is a four day visit to the country.

Minister Mariya is set to meet a number of high ranking officials of the Indian government before her return to the Maldives today.
