Health Protection Agency has decided to give additional doses of the measles vaccine to babies between the ages of six to eighteen months.

A statement issued by HPA noted that the decision to give an additional dose of the vaccine to babies were due to the higher risk they face in the event of contracting the disease.

HPA revealed that the vaccinations will take place at Social Center, Male' Dhamanaveshi and Villimale' and Hulhumale' Hospital. The additional dose of vaccine will only be given to babies who are six months and below the age of 18 months and to those who have had the vaccine for at least four weeks.

Vaccination will be available from 9:00am till 5:00pm.
