Women in Management (WIM) has introduced the WIM Asia Awards 2020 in the Maldives.

The awards was introduced during a special event held at the Levo Restaurant in Hulhumale on Saturday, by the Chairperson of WIM, Dr Sulochana Segera.

In addition to Maldives, Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Indonesia, Australia and Canada will be participating in WIM Asia Awards 2020.

WIM stated that only previous Awardees of WIM from Maldives, Canada and Sri Lanka can nominate their names; while other countries will be submitting nominees through an affiliated partner in their respective countries.

During the event, WIM Maldives also launched their activities for the year 2020. As such, their annual obstacle run "Run with Us" will once again be held in time for the International Women's Day while "Enmen" - a carnival targeted for children will be launched this year.

In addition to this, the "Namoona 2020" program was also launched during the event, which aims to empower all the women from across the country. Under this program, WIM Maldives will travel to five different atolls where they will conduct workshops for women.

WIM further revealed that awardees of the WIM Maldives Awards from 2018 and 2019 will automatically be nominated for the WIM Asia Awards 2020. They added that all those who submit updated documents from previous winners will be forwarded to the panel of WIM Asia Awards.

WIM Asia Awards 2020 is slated to be held on June 12th in Malaysia.
