A third person has been confirmed to have Measles in the Maldives, according to the Health Protection Agency (HPA).

In a press meet held by the Ministry of Health on Tuesday, Health Minister Ibrahim Ameen revealed that 10 more people have been tested for Measles. A tweet from HPA later confirmed that 1 of those 10 people have been confirmed to have Measles.

During the press meet, Minister Ameen said that all 10 people were tested for Measles because symptoms of the disease were present, not because they were suspected cases.

With this, the confirmed number of cases in the Maldives are now three. All three cases are isolated to the Male' region. The Health Ministry has noted that they will be monitoring the atolls for the spread of the disease.
