The 17 year old child who was suspected of having measles have tested negative to the disease.
Health Ministry announced a measles outbreak in the Maldives today and noted that a three month vaccination program has since been initiated to control the spread of the disease across the nation. A three year old child and a 30 year old adult was confirmed to have measles alongside a suspected case of a 17 year old was reported ahead of the announcement by the Ministry on Monday.
'One' has learnt that the 17 year old was admitted in isolation sometime yesterday. The child is a higher secondary student, and had attended school the day prior as well.
However the Health Ministry has since confirmed that the child was tested negatively to measles, and appears to be vaccinated.
