As the new Academic Year begins today in the Maldives, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has sent his best wishes on the occasion to all the students.

The President sent his wishes in a tweet this morning before the school hours began.

In his message, the President wished the students luck in the new Academic Year saying that “may your school year be a joyous one in which you learn new things, meet new friends and make memories that last a lifetime.”

The Academic Calendar issued by the Ministry of Education states that the first of the school year would be from 12 January to 21 May. And so, there will be 90 days of education in the first term. The second term will consist of 108 days; from 14 June to 3 December. Academic Year 2020 will have 198 days of school.
