Search underway after two foreigners who went diving goes missing

Two foreigners who went diving has gone missing.

Talking about the search for the missing divers, MNDF said that the two foreigners are workers at the Kaafu Maafalhu, a lagoon near Helengeli Island Resort being developed for tourism purposes.

The two men were reported missing around 2:35 p.m. according to the MNDF and the search and rescue services of the Male’ Area Coast Guard Squadron were deployed in the area.

Two people have gone missing at sea this month so far. Search efforts by the authorities have been unsuccessful so far.

One of them is 41-year-old Nasrulla Abdulla (B. Eydhafushi) who was on a dinghy out fishing when it was hit by a speed launch traveling near Baa Atoll Dhonfanu.

The second missing person is 37-year-old Mohamed Yousuf (H. Dh. Kulhudhuffushi) who went missing after a cargo vessel crashed on a reef near Kaafu Atoll Kagi. He was with two expatriates on the vessel at the time of the collision.
