Planning Ministry has revealed that the Usfasgandu will be developed as a recreational area for people of all ages to enjoy.

Speaking to "One Online" a media official for the ministry noted that the area will not be developed into a park but rather a recreational area for all.

Usfasgandu was previously used by people of different ages for recreational purposes but was closed off for the construction of accommodation blocks and offices for those who were constructing the Sinamale' Bridge. However the area has now been cleared, and cleaning works are now being carried out by CCCC Second Harbor Engineering.

Planning Minstry said that their work will begin once the cleaning is over - but noted that construction design and equipment to be placed are yet to be finalised.
