Prosecutor General's Office has submitted to the Criminal Court to prosecute the parents of the 13 year old girl, who gave birth after being subjected to long term sexual abuse.

The case came to light after Ismail Hammad of R. Maduvvari was attacked on a fishing vessel after a dispute regarding religious ideologies erupted. Hammad had raped the girl while she was 12, after being allegedly married to her outside a legal court.

Parents of the child were arrested under a court order on December 10th.

The PG Office revealed that one of them will be forcing four different charges while the other is facing a single charge. However, further details of the charges were not revealed.

The couple have five children, who are neglected from the most basic necessities as the couple support and practice extremist ideologies.

All six children have now been taken under state care, including the newborn of the 13 year old girl after it was found that they have been kept from receiving essential vaccination and access to education.
