Former Islamic Minister Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has said that he believes Former President Abdulla Yameen still remains as the leader of the largest opposition, Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM).
Dr Shaheem made the statement in a tweet sent out today, in which he also expressed that President Yameen must receive justice and expressed his wish for him to be transferred to house arrest in comparison to the prison he is currently in.
While Shaheem has stated this, former Home Minister and Former Vice President of PPM has been receiving heavy criticism from opposition leaders after he said that the PPM ideology is no more and that a new thinking was much needed for the opposition.
PPM Vice President and Naifaru MP Ahmed Shiyam in rebuttal said that the ideology of President Yameen is much needed due to the current situation that the country is.
