Aminath Abdulla Didi has been appointed as Maldives' first Consul General.
Minister of Foreign Affairs revealed that she will head the Consulate in Trivananthapuram, India, as of today. The Minister also presented her with the letter of appointment.
She was a permanent secretary at the Foreign Ministry till her appointment, and had previously filled in various important positions at the ministry including directorial roles. The Ministry also highlighted that she has been in the sector for 17 years.
This also marks the first time a woman has been appointed Consul General at a Maldives Embassy.
