Authorities have advised to remain vigilant as various degrees of damages to infrastructure and property are being reported from across the country due to torrential rain.
Maldives Police Service said has advised the general public to remain vigilant of swell waves and tree falls along with taking precautionary measures to ensure any flooding does not go into houses as such reports are coming in.
Police said that a report came in that the window of an ATM center was broken around 3 a.m. in Lhaviyani Atoll Hinnavaru last night and while no one was injured, the incident has been reported to all relevant parties.
In Kaafu Kaashidhoo, two trees at a residential house fell on to the road this morning. No one was injured in the incident.
Heavy rain in Baa Atoll Thulhaadhoo has caused flooding in some houses according to the police and police have assisted in sand bagging the house to prevent more water from coming in.
Police also said that swell waves have been reported in Noonu Atoll Holhudhoo affecting the sea wall and has responded to sand bag houses potentially at risk of being affected by a flood.
