The Fishermen’s Forum organized by the Ministry of Fisheries, Agriculture and Marine Resources in commemoration with the Fishermen’s Day has begun.

The two-day forum was officially inaugurated by the Fisheries Minister, Zaha Waheed at the Brightway International School in Hulhumale’.

According to the Ministry, 55 participants from 15 atolls are taking part in the forum ranging from fishermen, boat captains, crew and vessel owners along with industry stakeholders. The forum is designed to discuss exchange information on developing the fisheries industry in the Maldives.

Fishermen’s Day is celebrated on 10 December in the Maldives. As part of the celebrations this year, the Ministry hosted the Fishermen’s Expo on Friday. The official function is set to be held on Tuesday night.
