Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has been included in 'The World's 500 Most Influential Muslims' list by the Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre in Amman, Jordan.
The 500 Most Influential Muslims, also known as The Muslim 500 is an annual publication first published in 2009, which ranks the most influential Muslims in the world. Dr. Shaheem was included in the administrative field, and is the only Maldivian on the ranking.
Dr. Shaheem who served as the running mate for Former President Abdulla Yameen this past Presidential Election is a key figure in the development of islamic knowledge and education in the Maldives. His role in the formation of Maldives Hajj Corporation, Waqf Fund and the Maldives Islamic Bank is also of noteworthy.
Dr. Shaheem who also filled in as the Chancellor of Islamic University of Maldives currently serves as the advisor to the Secretary General of the OIC.
