Parliament is set to decide about the dismissal of Chief Justice, Dr. Ahmed Abdulla Didi and Judge Adam Mohamed Abdulla from their positions at the Supreme Court, during the sitting tomorrow.
The Parliament Committee had previously backed the JSC decision to dismiss both the judges. The report has now been looked into by the committee, and will be submitted to the Parliament floor during tomorrow's sitting.
A statement issued by the JSC noted that the judges were suspended following investigations into disciplinary issues of the judges.
"The investigative committee of the JSC has found the Chief Justice Dr. Ahmed Abdulla Didi and Judge Adam Mohamed responsible of carrying out acts that violated the set standards for judges in article 154 (B) of the constitution, leading the JSC to recommend to the Parliament for their dismissal," the statement byJSC added.
Both judges have previously said that there was no basis for them to be answerable to the JSC and had excused themselves from the investigation.
