Adhurey: Coalition consists of people who would do anything for their own gain

President of PNC and the former MP for Fonadhoo constituency, Abdul Raheem Abdulla (Adhurey) has said that the government coalition with MDP is made up of people who are capable of doing anything if it is for their own benefit.

Speaking at a press conference last night following the statement issued by the Chief Judge of the Criminal Court, Ahmed Hailam following his suspension, Adhurey said that no one from within the coalition is going to criticize MDP for their actions even if it against the country and the Islamic faith.

He said that the trial of the former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom was passed on to another judge without any reasons to necessitate it. And Judge Hailam can go back to presiding on the case once his suspension has been lifted.

Judge Hailam is presiding over the money laundering trail of the former President Yameen. However, Hailam was suspended by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) after a sentencing hearing was scheduled at the court.

He was suspended following a disciplinary investigation against him regarding an image he shared on a Viber group on Victory Day.
