Sources confirm that the bullet fired during an MNDF training session in Girifushi had hit a German tourist aboard the 'Eagle Ray' safari sun deck.
'One' has learnt that the incident had occurred within about an hour of the tourists boarding the safari boat. Seven others had boarded the safari with the injured tourist. The German man had bled quite a lot after being scratched with the bullet on one side of his neck.
The bullet was also found on the sun deck of the safari.
Two doctors were among the seven who boarded the safari with the injured man. The two had initially controlled bleeding of the wound.
MNDF revealed that the tourist was transported to Tree Top Hospital via sea ambulance and treated there.
