The estimated state budget for 2020 is set to be submitted to the Parliament tomorrow.

First on agenda for the parliament sitting tomorrow is the debate on the estimated state budget for 2020. The budget estimated by the Ministry of Finance was sent to the parliament last Thursday. According to the Ministry, the estimated budget for 2020 stands at a whopping MVR 40 billion.

The 2020-2022 Fiscal Strategy publicized by the Ministry puts the total budget for 2020 at an estimate of MVR 39.55 billion. The total expenditure is at MVR 37 billion as well.

The baseline recurrent expenditure is estimated to be MVR 20 billion while baseline capital expenditure is estimated at MVR 11.7 billion.

The projected revenue for 2020 is estimated at MVR 21 billion.
